Helping whanau build a better tomorrow today.
Achieving intergenerational success.
- Aroha ke te tangata
Te Ira was founded on the joint vision and inspiration of Tui Ah Loo and Te Puea Winiata.
"We were introduced to each other by Johnny O'Connell from ProCare in 2014. We soon realised that our organisations (PARS and Turuki) worked with many of the same whanau. We also saw that we had the same dream to help these families make real changes in their lives. Out of this shared vision Te Ira was born".
— Te Puea Winiata & Tui Ah Loo
Tui Ah Loo is the CEO of PARS Inc (People at Risk Solutions).
Te Puea Winiata is the CEO of Turuki Health Care.
Nga Kaupapa Maori
From a Māori perspective, anything that is built on kaupapa Māori ideals must refer back to, and be informed by, a traditional cultural base. It must also address Māori needs and aspirations in the present day. Finally, it must also embrace new ideas, new technologies and new strategies of leading.
Te Ira is a kaupapa Maori organisation that works with all ethnic groups.
Our origins were born from the combined vision of PARS (People at Risk Solutions) and Turuki Health, by CEOs Tui Ah Loo and Te Puea Winiata. Conscious of previous efforts by agencies and NGOs that had done little to stem this tide of intergenerational incarceration, they knew Te Ira needed to be revolutionary as opposed to evolutionary.
Our brand needed to not only embrace the union of PARS and Turuki Health, it also needed to embrace and explain the marriage of the minds and vision of its two founders.
Te Ira works with whānau in the Auckland area. If you would like to refer a whānau to us, please click below and fill in our referral form.
